Carroll thanks for sticking with me through all my writing experiments. I mainly do it to connect with women like me out there and it is so nice to hear from readers like you. Appreciated.

Thank you, thank you! I loved your blog and especially Flypaper Thoughts! I miss your blog. Actually I miss a lot of blogs. I enjoyed the content and context much more than the snippets of info or ideas on Instagram, etc. Thank you for your insights and humor. And your stories about your mom -- carrots in the washing machine! So funny! Thanks, Barb!

Made me so happy to read this this morning. My grandmother on my Mom's side used to only iron the front of Granddads shirts because no-one saw the back. But carrots in the washing machine maybe takes the cake.

Here are my flypaper thoughts. I love your flypaper thoughts. I laughed spontaneously and loudly about washing carrots in the washing machine. It was startling. Your friends were right. Everybody wanted a mother like yours.

Welcome home indeed! I've enjoyed your Flypaper Thoughts for years, and see the same humor and realism in your mysteries, so maybe they are a warm up for the upcoming books.

And dog greetings are terrific - although we had one dog that would be very standoffish for about 48 hours, offended that we had gone away.

Cheers, Ceci

I really miss your blog and flypaper thoughts. So happy you're doing those again. Btw, loved your latest book. Best one yet. I'd say you've hit your stride. Couple passages had me laughing out loud. Really hard.

Thanks for all these comments. I sort of jumped into fiction and it's been a learning on the job thing for me. It's fun but hard which is a good combination for me. Appreciate your support so much.

Are you sure some of those white men in the physics department didn't have Asian eyes? Look closely. My husband worked at IBM for years. When he went to staff meetings, he was the token white guy. Meanwhile, my favorite teacher in college who taught Shakespeare so well that I actually gave a damn was fired/laidoff/let go because, as another professor (a woman BTW) said, "he doesn't wear a skirt." We can get too wound up in this cultural movements and forget to see reality. You know ... hallucinations.

Thank you, Barbara. Love the “doctor’s advice” about sleeping. And what a lucky granddaughter — give her plenty of mus-kuls, as mine used to say. I’m glad I share this old planet with you.

I needed these thoughts so much today, it made me feel like part of a community of thoughtful people. So I typed "Intelligent Woman" in a pirate names website. I got "Miss Intellectual Hook", Siren Sageblade", "Lady Brainshear", Captain Cleverwind" and my favorite, "Madame Seafoam".
